Revenues and Expenditures for Public Elementary and Secondary Education: School Year 2015–16

A report released in December 2018 by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and the U.S. Department of Education shows that spending on K-12 schools across the United States has increased for the third consecutive year.

The average per student allocation was $11,841 — but the amounts vary widely from state to state. The District of Columbia, for example, spent $27,067 per student while Florida spent $9,176.  Click here to read the entire report.
