Miami Marlins Foundation assists Alpha Charter School of Excellence families

Miami-Dade County, FL — The Miami Marlins Foundation, with generous support from Florida Blue, launched the Home Plate Meals Relief Fund to benefit those impacted by COVID-19. As part of this initiative and in partnership with Alpha Charter of Excellence (ACE), the Miami Marlins Foundation was able to provide food and essential items to students and families from the community. The Miami Marlins Foundation provided Sedano’s Supermarkets gift cards to families that were identified by ACE and hosted food distributions at Marlins Park, which is located nearby in Little Havana.

“During a time of need, ACE gives back to the valuable community of Little Havana. I am proud to lead a school that rises by lifting and cheering others,” said Isabel Navas, founding Principal, Alpha Charter of Excellence.IMG 2147 FCSA - Florida Charter School Alliance

Members of the community who have been impacted by COVID-19 can visit Marlins Park every Tuesday and Wednesday at 1 pm through May for drive-thru food distributions hosted by the Miami Marlins Foundation in partnership with Deliver Lean and Farm Share. Each distribution provides fresh meals and non-perishable items for approximately 500 families.
