Miami Community Charter recognized for promoting bi-literacy, cultural awareness

March 2018 – The Consulate General of Mexico in Miami invited students from Miami Community Charter School to the Cultural Institute of Mexico in Miami recently. The visit is part of the partnership the Consul has had with the charter school for three years – providing textbooks to supplement the school’s Spanish curriculum and a program developed to promote bi-literacy, cultural awareness, and student appreciation for their own heritage.   Opened in 2004, Miami Community Charter is an independent public charter school serving families in the migrant community of South Homestead.
