JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified ELA Teacher to join our educational team. As an ELA Teacher, you will be responsible for providing English language instruction to students whose native language is not English. Your role will involve creating engaging lesson plans, assessing students' language skills, and fostering a supportive learning environment to help students achieve proficiency in English.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to ELA students' needs.
Teach English language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing) effectively.
Assess students' language proficiency and track progress regularly.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and levels.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with parents/guardians.
Maintain accurate records and comply with administrative requirements.
Pursue professional development and stay updated on language teaching best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or higher and FL teaching certification

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge of language acquisition theories, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development for ELA learners.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with culturally diverse students and colleagues.
Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, both verbal and written.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Classroom and school-based work environment serving K–12 students
Regular interaction with students, parents, staff, and community members
