IDEA funding restored to Palm Beach charter schools but…

We applaud Palm Beach Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Avossa and Jim Pegg, in the Palm Beach charter school support office, for their willingness to work with charter schools and support our efforts to reverse the district’s decision to reformulate the IDEA funding formula.

Full IDEA funding will be reinstated this year, however, the Palm Beach school district will cut charter school’s IDEA allocation next school year (16-17).

This decision will hurt the most needy and vulnerable charter school students. The FCSA team will continue to work on this issue alongside the Palm Beach County IDEA Funding Work Group co-chaired by Greg Hauptner (G-Star) and Tom Sutterfield (Imagine Schools).  To join the IDEA Funding Work Group, email Lynn@flcharteralliance.org today.
