How to Celebrate National Charter Schools, May 1-5, 2017

The FCSA team will be visiting schools and posting great stories and facts about charter schools on our website and social media during National Charter Schools Week.  Here’s a tool kit of ideas and suggestion you can do to mark the week and celebrate with charter schools across the country.
Events on your campus
  • Host a recognition event on campus.  Whether you host a small or large celebration doesn’t matter.  The goal is to highlight something great about your school.  Every school is doing something that’s helping kids learn — celebrate that and share it with the world!
  • If your school is hosting a National Charter Schools Week celebration, use #charterschoolweek to tag all the pictures and news you post.
  • Share your photos, press release, and news stories with Lynn@flcharteralliance.org

Show your National Charter Schools Week spirit

  • Print this poster! Have your students, faculty, parents, and staff create fun photos for social media using this “I am a charter school ____________” poster.
  • Fill in the blank ideas…I am a charter school: scholar, leader, advocate, parent, supporter, alumnus, volunteer…
  • Tag your photos with #charterschoolsweek
Charter Schools students are outperforming students attending district-run schools
  • Click here to see a recent report by the Florida Department of Education that compares charter/district student academic performance, learning gains, and achievement gap.
  • Share the good news with your parents, governing board, stakeholders, local elected officials, friends, and everyone you know!

Brag about your grads

  • We are kicking off a campaign to highlight charter school graduates during National Charter Schools Week.  Send us (lynn@flcharteralliance.org) photos and a little summary about your grads and we’ll feature them on our website and social media.
  • Use #30DaysofGrad when you post photos of grads and ask your Class of 2017 to use that hashtag too.

If you need help letting media know about your event or want more details about National Charter Schools week, contact Lynn Norman-Teck at (305) 216-6208, Lynn@flcharteralliance.org
