“Charter schools rose to the challenge when the COVID19 pandemic forced classrooms to close in the spring of 2020.  Charter school administrators and teachers quickly pivoted to ensure that learning continued via remote learning,” said Lynn Norman-Teck, FCSA Executive Director and charter school parent of two. “Charter school leaders and teachers did what they do best — think outside the box, innovate, listen to their parents, and meet the needs of the community they serve.”  During the summer, charter school leaders expanded and updated their remote learning plans, launched safety protocols, and held parent academies in preparation for the fall.  As a result, charter schools were ready to serve their students in the fall.”  Below is a great example of a school in Florida City that began the 20-21 school year without a hitch.

On the first day of class, Miami Community Charter School in Florida City, Fla. is one of the few schools accommodating students who do not have Internet access at home or whose parents cannot stay home with them for remote learning.
