Miami, FL – January 8, 2019 – The Florida Charter School Alliance (FCSA) and Association of American Educators (AAE) are helping empower teachers — giving them the tools to confidently talk about their experience working at a charter school and advocate for themselves and the students they serve.
“Now more than ever, everyone involved in the charter school movement must have a voice,” explains Rena Youngblood, Director of Charter School Service for the Association of American Educators (AAE). “That doesn’t necessarily mean testifying before an education committee. It may be as simple as running into a friend somewhere in your community and being able to gently, yet confidently, explain the facts versus the myths about working at a charter school.”
The Charter School Advocacy 101 workshops aim to do just that. Participants will also hear about the FCSA legislative priorities for the 2019 session and ways they might consider becoming involved.
The workshop series will kick off in Miami on January 17 as part of National School Choice Week. For more information, or to register for the event, contact Rena Youngblood at email@example.com.
