West Palm Beach, FL — May 27, 2026 — Kencierra (Ariel) Brown will graduate from EdVenture Charter School on June 4, 2026. The FCSA asked Ariel to share her story and why finding the right educational fit is key to a student’s success.
Ariel’s words are a powerful testament to the need for quality school choice and that every student, everywhere, should have the chance to learn at a school where they feel supported, confident, engaged, and ready for what’s next. Click here to watch our conversation.
The FCSA is proud of Ariel and the thousands of charter school graduates crossing the stage, and we are fighting for your future.
Charter and choice advocates, like FCSA, want schools like EdVenture and other quality charter school programs to continue to serve kids like Ariel. For more than 30 years, the only source of federal funding that specifically supports charter school growth has been the Charter Schools Program. There are three game-changing bills before Congress right now that continue that effort and will ensure more students have access to great public charter schools. Soon, we’ll be asking you to voice your support for these bills by sharing how and why charter schools make a difference.
Here’s an overview of these bills and how they work:
- The Equitable Access to School Facilities Act clears the path for charter schools to access facilities funding, keeping dollars in classrooms where they belong.
- The FLEX Act ensures federal investments stay aligned to changing needs, especially as charter school enrollment continues to grow each year.
- The Empower Charter School Educators to Lead Act empowers educators to dedicate the time and resources needed to launch schools that reflect their communities’ needs.
These opportunities are within reach of all students if we commit to investing in what works, like public charter schools. Soon, Congress will vote to make these bills law, locking in the critical long-term support charter schools need and deserve. We’ll ask our members and stakeholders to help to get these critical pieces of legislation across the finish line – so stay tuned.
