Legislature Pass Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27

Tallahassee, FL — May 29, 2026 — After weeks of conference negotiations, today — Friday, May 29, 2026 — the Legislature voted to pass HB 5001E, the General Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2026-27. The Senate voted unanimously in favor of the budget, and the House voted 99-6 for the Budget Plan.

The total education budget comes in at $32.0 billion, with $19.9 billion directed to K-12 public schools, $4.7 billion to the state university system, $1.9 billion to the Florida College System, and $1.7 billion to early learning and VPK.
