JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Preschool Director in Florida manages daily preschool operations, oversees staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains program quality so children have a safe and enriching environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead curriculum development that meets Florida standards and fosters early learning.
Hire, supervise, and support staff; conduct performance reviews.
Maintain compliance with state and local regulations, keeping all records current.
Communicate with families and respond to concerns, building positive relationships.
Manage the budget, expenses, tuition, and financial sustainability.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Handle enrollment, marketing, tours, and events to maintain student numbers.
Coordinate schedules, facilities, meals, and transportation as needed.
Uphold safety policies and oversee emergency procedures.
Collaborate with agencies and organizations for program support.
Drive continuous improvement through assessment and accreditation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field (Associate degree may be accepted with experience).
Florida DCF Director Credential and, for VPK programs, relevant endorsement.

Proven leadership and teamwork abilities.
Effective communication with all stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Cultural competence and respect for diversity.
Technological proficiency.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Primarily works indoors at child care sites, sometimes outdoors.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and supervise children actively.
Some flexible hours may be required.
