FCSA Launches Incubator for Charter School Leaders of Tomorrow

November 2021 – Over the summer, the FCSA launched the School Leaders Fellowship, a training program aiming to develop a pool of strong, effective, and visionary charter school principals. The  Fellowship was created by the FCSA in partnership with the Florida Department of Education through the US Department of Education’s CSP grant.
Using proven best practices of charter operations and the Florida principal leadership standards, this program is like no other – providing the Fellows with comprehensive, practical, and contemporary lessons on school administration.
The nine 2021 School Leaders Fellows reflect the passion for education and diversity of the charter school movement. The Fellowship will culminate with a capstone project and graduation in Spring 2022.

Fellows whose schools received or who were eligible to receive CSP funding:

Kasim Biyikli,  River City Science Academy Intracoastal, Duval County

Sergio Bonilla, HIVE Preparatory K-8 Center, Miami-Dade County

Kelly de la Cruz, Mi Escuela Montessori, Polk County

Cameron Frazier,  Becoming Collegiate Academy, Duval County

Razia Ali Hamm, Constellation Charter School, Alachua County

 

Fellows whose schools were not eligible to receive CSP funding:

Omar Holligan, Palm Beach Maritime Elementary, Palm Beach County

Rommy Rodriguez,  Miami Community Charter Schools, Miami-Dade

Catherine Rudder, EdVenture Charter School, Palm Beach County

Julie Stewart, Everglades Prep Academy, Palm Beach County

 

The application period for the 2022 School Leaders Fellowship will open in Summer 2022.
