TEACHERS ROCK THEIR SCHOOL TO MAKE LEARNING FUN

Mater Grove Academy teachers join educators from around the world to “Rock Your School”

Coconut Grove, FL – On Thursday, September 20, teachers at Mater Grove, a K-8 public charter school in Miami, will join thousands of educators from around the world to participate in “Rock Your School!” The movement – created by award-winning educators Hope and Wade King – empowers teachers through their acclaimed Get Your Teach On conferences and encourages them to create an outside-the-box, captivating learning experience for students. “What if we could get every student in every classroom to love to learn? It’s a tall order, but possible when we give our students a reason to get excited about learning! Let’s rock out for our students!” says the Rock Your School website – and that’s exactly what the team at Mater Grove is planning tomorrow.

From the minute students step on campus, the Mater Grove team will greet them with music, updated classroom decor, and learning activities that are hands-on and fun. “Learning math using Jenga pieces, music and dancing at lunchtime…we challenged ourselves to come up with instructional plans that deliver ordinary content in an extraordinary way,” explains Sheila Gonzalez, Principal. “We want our school to be a fun place students learn, and want to come to each and every day.”
