October 18, 2018 – Orlando, FL – The Florida Charter School Alliance (FCSA) was one of the sponsors of the 2018 Florida Charter School Conference. Our team also presented at the closing session, and led a breakout session about marketing schools to potential parents. Our co-presenter at Lifting Enrollment: How to use advertising, social media and public relations to reach potential parents was Mater Brighton Lakes Principal, Carmen Cangemi. Her facility had not broken ground in Osceola when Mrs. Cangemi had to start recruiting new students — she used traditional advertising plus social media, public relations, community outreach, plus a photo diary documenting the progress of construction to fill seats. FCSA helped her create a “meet the principal” video to introduce her to the community and kick off the recruitment effort.
