Legislative Update – April 24, 2017

Florida lawmakers are more than two-thirds of the way through the 60-day session. The Senate and House must come to an agreement on several education bills, and finalize a state budget before May 5. If they can’t meet that deadline, there may be special session called.

Here’s a brief Q&A that includes the most frequently asked questions about proposed bills that we have received from member schools this week.  There’s also a link to a new report released by the Florida Department of Education that shows that students enrolled in the state’s charter schools are outperforming their peers who attend district-run schools.
