April 20, 2018 – FLORIDA – For the past month, the FCSA team has been providing critical training to schools, participating in informational workshops, and visiting members throughout the state. Just like an effective principal does daily classroom walk-throughs, we believe that walking through the state and connecting one-on-one with member school leaders and board members, district charter school personnel and superintendents, and parents is the best way to support our schools and the movement, and stay up-to-date with what’s happening.
FCSA executive Director Lynn Norman-Teck was invited to participate in an accountability workshop and a State Leaders Council meeting hosted by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools last week. At the workshop, charter school associations from across the country shared their challenges and successes, and worked to develop strategies for helping the movement and the students charter schools serve. She also led a media crisis and communications training workshop for future principals enrolled in the Doral Leadership program (pictured above). Ralph Arza, Director of Governmental Affairs, visited various school districts to support member principals and governing board members; and our Director of Membership Services, Leicha SanMiguel, attended the Department of School Accountability’s informational session. The presentation included updates on policy, school accountability, school improvement ratings model, school grade model, and much more!
