October 2017 – From the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools – Over the past 12 years, public charter school enrollment has tripled in response to the growing demands for high-quality public school options. Charter schools currently serve more than 3 million students and there are now more than 200 school districts where 10 percent or more of their public school students attend charter schools.
New Report Highlights Districts with Highest Charter School Growth
This report identifies communities that have the highest percentage and the highest number of students enrolled in charter schools. Two Districts in Florida are included in the report. Both Broward and Miami-Dade are among the districts nationwide that have the largest number of charter school students by District — both have a 17% enrollment share.
