13 districts file lawsuit to kill equitable student funding

A message from the Florida Charter School Alliance
October 17, 2017 – We commend the school districts — including Miami Dade and Hillsborough — and their board members who decided to do the right thing and not challenge equity in student funding as outlined in HB7069.
The lawsuit filed yesterday will funnel taxpayer dollars towards a courtroom battle in an effort to maintain a funding formula that treats one select group of students better than others — and continue to punish families who choose to send their child to a public charter school.

The Florida Charter School Alliance will continue to work on behalf of charter schools in the state and the families they serve to protect parental choice and equity in funding for all students.
